Here’s some news from Irving/Coppell Neighborsgo editor Meredith Shamburger:

An agreement to build transitional housing for homeless teens in conjunction with the La Buena Vida Foundation and the Bear Creek Development Corporation will be discussed at the City Council’s Thursday meeting.

The agreement would allow the construction of a four-plex for 10 young men and an on-site case manager at 200 Alpine Court. The housing program would be open to 18- to 21-year-olds referred to the La Buena Vida Foundation by Irving ISD.

The Bear Creek Development Corporation would build the house, with a maximum cost set at $430,000. Funding for the project was approved in January 2011 by the Irving City Council. The La Buena Vida Foundation would furnish and operate the house.

City staff members are recommending that the council approve the agreement.

The city council meets at 7 p.m. in its chambers at City Hall, 825 W. Irving Blvd.
