–The Irving City Council will meet at 7 p.m. today at City Hall, 825 W. Irving Blvd.
–The Irving-Las Colinas Rotary Club will meet at noon today at Las Colinas Country Club, 4400 N. O’Connor Blvd.
–The city will hold its tree lighting ceremony at 5:30 p.m. today at City Hall, 825 W. Irving Blvd.
–The Irving ISD school board will meet at 6:30 p.m. today to confirm the new superindent, Jose Parra. The meeting will be at the Administration Building, 2621 W. Airport Freeway.
–Irving Cares is holding a Pay it Forward Holiday Fundraising Drive this week where different restaurants will offer a portion of sales to the nonprofit. Today it’s P. J’s Cafe; and Friday it’s Glory House. Also helping this week are La Cima Club with a canned food drive; Express Employment, which will donate $100 for each new temp who starts work this week; Essential Insurance Concepts, which will donate $5 for everyone who get an insurance quote; and Bill Hooten State Farm Insurance, with a donation for each call the office receives.
